Yes we have nests!

The first nest for 2013 on Holden Beach was laid on May 28. That's later than the last two years---in 2012 our first nest was May 12 and in 2011 it was May 21. It is estimated that this nest will hatch and we'll see the first baby turtles on Holden Beach around July 24. Since then the mommas have been active on the beach with 8 total nests and numerous false crawls. This photo is of new Assistant Beach Coordinator Bob and trainee Eileen relocating the eggs of nest #8 this morning. Don't forget Turtle Talk each Wednesday all summer @ 7 p.m.
