September will be a busy moth

Even though the summer season is officially ending, there's still quite a bit of turtle activity on the beach. Eight nests are "collared" which means they were laid 50 or more days ago and are in the hatching "window" and most of them have depressions (sign of active hatching under the sand). So, there should be a lot of hatchlings born this week! And don't worry if you aren't visiting Holden Beach until later in the month because there are 9 additional nests that will be collared between this week and the end of September.
