Nest #1

Our first nest was laid on Friday May 12. YEAH!! This determined mother turtle climbed up over a steep and high escarpment to lay her nest.

The team moved the nest further back on to the beach away from the escarpment and the tideline. There were 113 eggs. We can expect it to hatch around July 4.

Please remember: if you see a mother turtle on the beach, do not approach her--you might frighten her and she may leave the beach without laying her eggs. Please don't take flash photos or shine a flashlight on her.
