The HBTP Stranding Team was called out last Thursday June 4 for a turtle that seemed to be floundering in the water on the east end of the island. This turtle ---that they've named SPOCK ---was taken to the Karen Beasley Turtle Hospital near Topsail Island. Reports are that SPOCK has a long road ahead of him. He tends to be a picky eater, likes filleted mackerel..but he did eat over the weekend and they are working to get him to eat.
