Turtles leave before the storm!

Last night turtle nest #8 had a fast and furious boil just before a thunderstorm. There was a unique depression on this nest (see photo taken at 8 p.m.) and the team felt that there was movement and the nest would hatch soon. This was day #63. But there was also a thunderstorm coming and everyone needed to be off the beach. At 9:20 pm as the HBTP members were securing the grate and fox cage to leave-- the boil started. They helped as 85 babies raced into the ocean before the storm! Good job! We know there were 92 eggs in the nest..so maybe a couple more will emerge during the next couple nights.
