Change of Plans...nest 19 CLOSED

Update on nest 19. It was closed Monday evening October 20. The team found 9 babies to add to the 17 that went out last Friday. Due to the DNA study, we know that this momma had 4 other nests this summer. Two of the babies from Friday are at the Karen Beasley Turtle Hospital, Topsail, NC and thriving and 3 from the excavation will probably be taken there today due to egg sacs and sluggishness. Great work for the HBTP team that worked this nest. They watched this nest for 22 days, but well worth the wait. This marks the end of the 2014 turtle season.
